I'm a day late with this, but bare with me I was busy..

Thirty years ago, Roger Rosiers (° 26/11/1946) the winner of the first edition, then called the Four Days of the West Coast. And though his name is not the same resonance as his contemporaries Eddy Merckx, Michel Pollentier, Freddy Maertens, Roger De Vlaeminck, Walter Planckaert ... he was a real 'Flandrien.

The victory in Paris-Roubaix was the pinnacle of his career, but also to the Three Days of De Panne keeps it nice memories. "I drove the three-day a few times and loved every time a beautiful course. In the beginning of the year, I always had my best condition. Wind, rain or snow ... Waivers were me like a glove," says Rosiers. Still, it was rather by accident that he won the Three Days in 1977. "I remember it well. During the second ride was around Ichtegem an escape. Jan Raas went in pursuit, but when he was just a good start, broke his left pedal and he flew the canal in. At that time I attacked, am touched by the escapees and evenings if I wear the leader's jersey. The next day I was able to keep him happy, "Rosiers remembers vividly.

From childhood Rosiers was a racing driver. In 1967, he was barely nineteen years of age make the transition to the pros. He was not for nothing for two years been the best lover of Belgium. With the exception of his first team (Mann-Grundig), he has always driven by excellent teams: BIC (1970-1973) Molteni (1974), Super Ser (1975-1976), Frisol (1977), Peugeot (1978) and La Motobecane-Redoute (1979-1980). During his professional career he has won include the Brabant Arrow (1967), Nokere Curonian (1969), Paris-Roubaix (1971), the Tour of Luxembourg (1972), ... In 1980 Rosiers stopped cycling. Through his contacts within the cycling Masta, seller of soap products, he ended up in a different world. Until today Rosiers is successful manager of a company that specializes in cleaning.
