I'm looking for an entry level bike ... I'd appreciate some feedback advice

Definitely the Silverback. Much better drivetrain. The fork is also a level up from the Trek.

I'm also hearing conflicting on the 29 vs 27,5 ... so the SB Spectra comp vs SB Slade 4.

Besides the wheels size, I'm sure that SB Spectra also got better comps due to it being a higher priced bike right, but can anyone recommend the Slade 4 or should I stick to the Spectra?

Not sure how much it matters, I'm 1,78m tall & round 84kg.

 

Also what frame size is best for me? I thought I would be a large, but was told I'm a medium.

Have you looked at the Trek Mamba yet? Very competitively priced in the market for the quality components it has.
