Just done sani with the Mrs and we have a few days left in umhlanga before back to uk. We were thinking of going to holla trails so a couple of questions arise.

First is it safe for a couple to ride around? Secondly are the trails fairly easy to follow? Finally are there any facilities at the trailhead, cafe shop etc. Cheers Danny (the Pommy team at the back end of sani race????)

The trails are fairly well marked. You can also download the GPS routes from their website. There are showers and a counter where you can buy some cool drinks and more importantly they have a few different craft beers too.

edit: only ever ridden the black route and have never seen or heard of any safety issues.

Very safe to ride there. Many trail options to choose from, from easy (green) to 85 km long (black). Great riding, you won't be disappointed.

Best first choice is red route (long version = 28 km), maroon route (± 28 km) or yellow route (45 - 48 km).

Love Holla!

Current fave is the first half of Red, then join Pink at the split after the hill past Pringle dam.

30km - great singletrack and about 420m climbing.

Oi Dan take that pickup to the Hotel Britannia for a nice curry lunch, just outside Durban, in case you are homesick. Some say that it's a good meal.

You'll never go wrong with Holla. You could have popped up for the Club Night, night ride last night.

The regular trail master is currently in Italy, but there is one of the Holla legends, Tim Banner running the show. Chat to him at the trail head before leaving.

The trails are well marked, and safe.

If you'd like a 'calf biter' with some rewarding climbs & sublime single track, do Gold. It's about 50kms, but a toughie.
