I hate travelling in Africa.We've travelled overland from Oz to vladivostok to cape town by 4x4(70000km) and then also cycled 10000km from Bali to Hong Kong. We were never asked for a bribe by anyone, nada, nothing. The big difference on trips like that is that you have the time at the borders. If you are in a rush, then it might be a different story all together, wanting everything to happen yesterday already. Think the border guards pick up on that very quickly.
