MigaelD Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I'm currently on the look for a full face helmet for downhill. The only real downhill helmet I've looked at is the Specialized Dissident at Helderberg Cycles in Somerset West, but they are currently out of stock and its a bit above my price range. I've looked at a few Fox motocross helmets at some motorcycle shops(everyone pretty much only has Fox helmets) and unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything that fits, is in stock and is in my price range. So does anyone know of a store that might have stock of some helmets(downhill or MX), I need to have it by Sunday morning. I'm from Strand but I don't mind driving to Cape Town tomorrow(Saturday) to pick something up.My budget is around R1100.I'm a size XL is anyone wants to know. Cheers
RiverInTheRoad Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 RSA doesn't cater for the DH crowd. I bought the 661 Comp 2005 model from CRC about ten years ago and its saved me a lot of teeth and scars. Any entry level Full Face from Bell, Giro etc will work. The more expensive ones are usually lighter and better ventilated, but they pass the same safety tests.
Boerklong Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 R1100 wont buy you much in the mx range. Maybe borrow one and save for a decent lid.

Was only from like 1 guys so I'm not sure if thats just his opinion or if its true.
