JXV Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Road or mtb? How long since the op? I had 6 thoracic vertebrae fused and some nerve damage after compression fractures in T3 and T5. Started riding anout 18 months after. No neck brace and still improving slowly a few years later...but if I crash I will be in trouble so I ride much more carefully than before. No jumps and much less high speed stuff. So much depends on your specific case so 1st get opinion of your orthopaedic surgeon/ neurosurgeon who did the op....go from there. Also if there is an underlying condition that increases risk...be careful (e.g. I have low bone density). In your case it sounds like your neck was affected so you might have much reduced mobility e.g. for looking up so this might force you into a very upright position...with handling compromises that come from that....
