If i read it right Euro 600 for a month or 3 weeks for 2 bikes its a bit hectic its worse than what I found

300euro for 1 bike for 1 month is not bad at all. It's ?75 / week

Not sure what bike you're hiring but for example:

SCOTT SPEEDSTER S1
Frame: Scott ALLOY SUPER LITE; fork: carbon CR1; Shimano Ultegra RD; Triple with 30 speeds' date=' Gearing 30/39/52; cassette 12/25. Weekly rate ? 88,00, Supplement for each additional day-? 10,00.

CR1 Pro
Frame: Scott CR1 Pro carbon
technology
. Fork: carbon steel CR1. Gear: Shimano Ultegra ST 6600 Compact Dual
control - 20 speeds, (front 34/50, box 12/25) or triple.
Available in all sizes: 47?49?52?54?56? 58?61, 135,00 euros per week
[/quote']

No on page 1 it was quoted as 600 euro per bike even half that would be crazy nearly R8000 , i could do alot with that.

Sorry punctuation was a bit off

Unfortunately already booked and paid for lufthansa on SAA plane. will make a plan with soft bag ' date=' pack clothes around bike and hand luggage[/quote']

in that case definitely use old hubs and insulation tubing to protected your bike especially the hubs are important. Brutal handling might break your rear stay and take your rear derailler of or protect it a lot!!

buy a bike over there. just before you leave there, split it into 2 parcels, one as frame with the minimum of parts on, one with wheels, handlebars and deraileurs.

bring the one of the parcels with, and post the other one here. there is import duty on complete bikes, not not on parts
