Instead of reviewing products we should review bike shops

there are some bike shops that you can walk into like its your own garage and everyone knows you and life is good...

there are some bike shops that are about as inviting as a KKK member's birthday, yes theres cake but you dont really want to stick around in case you get sacrificed, but you go there anyway because they have good prices or a good selection of products or their workshop is better than most surgical practices.

I have had plenty experiences where i have walked out of a bikeshop feeling dissatisfied with something, there are a few things i can deal with, average or slightly above average prices or a small selection of products im alright with, but when the customer service or the work shop is lacking in some way or another, thats when i look for other places to go!

a little kindness goes a long way, as do good mechanics!

so be a positive force and only talk about the good ones

there are plenty of whiney negative nancys on here already

it makes everyones day to hear a good LBS story

I'd love to

Crown cycles has a great vibe, pretty good prices and a sorted workshop, they my go to place, however unless you want a scott their selection of bikes is limited, and you can get all the cycling kit you need from there quite easily, but there isint masses amounts of choice.

Trail and Tar has a workshop I'd trust with my bike and a good selection of products, but they stock many things that are often out of my price range.

Constantia Uitsig has another great workshop, and they have a pumptrack, which is awesome, next time my bike needs something that I'm positive i cant do myself, thats where I'm going. however, they do not have a very expansive selection of products if youre the window shopping type like i am.

Olympic cycles has a great selection of products and bikes, their customer service is pretty good and their workshop is kitted. Their prices are by no means bad, parking sucks though. if you want something, chances are that its in stock at olympic.

How people treat you is their karma, how you react is yours.

With this in mind, you will make your life much easier and any LBS a nice place.
