Rockshox Sid seal problem

Hi Guys.

Having just put this fork on, to the correct pressure and then test riding it the seal popped up the stanchion and air and oil came out of it.

Is this something I can fix, or is this something that needs to be sent in?

I have a picture but I can't attach it on my phone.

Thanks.

My Reba did the same thing. It is the air chamber leaking into the lowers and then blowing off the seals. SRAM were very good about fixing it, although it took them 3 attempts. Even when I told them what the problem was they were still just putting new seals on and sending it back. The third time the seal popped off an I took it back (by this time they had noticed that it was always the air spring side that went) I told them to replace the air spring and it would fix the problem. Ben perfect ever since.

They are good about their warrantee, but just make sure that they don't just fix the seals as that is just a symptom and won't fix the problem.

You will probably need new seals, and you can't just push it back down. But I suppose if it is out of warrantee it is something that wouldn't be too hard to do yourself.

Mine was still under warranty so I just dropped it off at my nearest bike shop who sent it off to SRAM. Mine looked exactly the same. If you're happy to do it yourself then start by taking the air spring assembly out and looking for faulty o-rings. There is probably no need for a whole new air spring.

What mine looked like. I had pushed the sponge ring and dust wipe back down because it blew in a ride and I wanted to keep dirt out - but both had popped out like yours.
