  1. Just do a search on the Hub for Eagle Canyon - they are not renowned for excellent service. As a matter of fact it could well be the opposite...

    The Munga 2020

Benky - he has the experience without too many races in his legs - thanks Covid!!
  3. May I ask why not online? On Monday morning I ordered a Park Tool pump from Takealot and less than 24 hours later I had it my my grubby paws!! Not bad service!!
  4. Just an idea - add a search option to your website. It is a real pain having to scroll through items.

He must keep a low profile...no answers...
  6. A few of us looking at spending a few days on our MTB's drifting south from Pilgrims down to Barberton. Is there anyone out there who could help with directions - and names of who to contact to request permission so we can traverse their land without being shot. GPX routes or any guidance appreciated.
  7. Yep. And you feel fairly grim when it happens? My cardiologist put my onto 2 bananas a week...thats' it. Whilst resting I have arrhythmia from hell, but the more I chase my HR the more stable it becomes - until it goes through the roof. But the bananas provide sufficient potassium to ensure that this no longer happens (I think that was the reason...). Fairly scary when you glance down at your HR monitor and it is sitting at 220 and that is only because the monitor can't go any higher.
  8. In the case of the Shimano chain I have - writing on the outside of the chain.
  9. Double check that your chain is the right way around before you replace half your drive train looking for a creak. It saves time as well as a big dose of humble pie.
  10. Time for a healthy dose of humble pie. I also decided to swop out the chain ring to a newer NW - and in the process noticed that my chain was on the wrong way around. Swopped my chain around and hey presto, creak gone. A very happy ride this morning. Thanks for the help, sorry that at the end of the day it was just a case of stupidity. But I do have a nice BB, NW chain ring and a few other things on that I am not going to swop back, so not all bad news.
  11. Ok, so progress - it is not the seat post (creak remains when standing), nor the headset (creak remains when cycling without touching the bars). BUT, it was noticed that the moment we put pressure on the peddles we seem to get chain suck. Unfortunately this was only noticed this morning, so I will try and swop out my crank when I get home. At the same time I will also strip down my derailleur and check that it is all okay. It is an XT that is still in pretty good nick, but i certainly haven't stripped it to check it. An hour of creaking this morning certainly gives one the desire to fix the damn thing in a hurry!!
  12. Thanks - will check all of the above.
  13. Resurrecting an old thread but a current problem. Some guidance please. I am building up a commuter and have run into an issue. It is a Jamis 29er HT. The issue is the frame creaks badly the moment you put any reasonable pressure on the peddles. What we have done to try and find the problem is Swop out the BB Swop out the rear wheel (and with that the cassette and skewer) Swop out the peddles I am not sure what else we should replace or look at?? All help/guidance appreciated
  14. I am building up a commuter with "old" parts, and needed a part that I thought would land up costing me a new set of brakes. I popped into Northcliff to ask if what I wanted was possible. They took the brake/shifter combo and said they would try and make a plan. Yesterday I received the news that a plan was made - all at no cost. What a pleasure dealing with guys who understand my passion and are happy to help out.
  15. I would hate to work out how many hangovers I can attribute to this guy. I have had more really good parties than I care to remember, starting way back when he first appeared on campus down in Martitzburg.
  16. And Axel is investigating yet uncharted portions of Ntsikeni. :-) I thought he would have seen the lights by now, but clearly not.
  17. And Mike is storming. I see the Greaves pair left with him from Ntsikeni - I wonder how long they will last. He is a scary animal on the charge.
  18. And they are off - that's me done for the next "n" days as I am glued to the dots.
  19. I use slicks - the only problem is I have to train in the dark as my bike is too embarrassed to be seen in the light. Slicks on a MTB really look silly - but it certainly makes for a faster ride.
  20. RIP Johann - a great man, and mad about the Freedom challenge.
  21. Don't you want to meander off and ruin another thread - this one was doing quite well without you? Or just keep on banging away on one of the others you have already ruined - but I really enjoy the bull dust being dished out here, and don't want it ruined as well.
