m_jhb Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 hi all I was wondering this morning, Has anybody ever tried shield tyre jack as a quick repair just to finish the race.I know its not a best but worked wonders for a quick fix on my motocross bike, would it not do the same for a MTB tire?
raptor-22 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Works well. I've used Michelin and sportsman's warehouse versions to good effect. You do have to clean most of it out if you top up with sealant again....
Martin PJ Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I have tried a few times on MTB with the car tyre stuff, it didn't work. The flats leaked anyway. It seems to be foamy and not sticky. The LBS (who I trust) swears by the smaller tins that are bike specific. Reckons in the triathlons that this is all the guys take with them. They cost a bit more, like R100 a small tin. You need to shake it properly first before you apply it, otherwise just gas comes out.
