gongmech Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Yesterday we went to Shapenberg to do the trail after a long layover of not cycling.At Ongegund there seem to be some new landowners and the trails were definitely NOT well marked. We got lost several times, found boards that were lying in a bunch, aand if it hadnt been for riding there before, we wouldnt have found our way to Knorrhoek. The singletrack also was so overgrown , we constantly rode off the rack because we couldnt see where it went. Knorrhoek on the other hand, looks like its going to be fantastic. Had a brief chat to some people doing up the place there, and they gave us directions to follow. Great looking unfinished bike park and the trails are very well marked. Sadly we didnt have time to ride much there as we spent 2 hours getting lost in Ongegund's farms. So missed most of the singletrack. Looking forward to going back soon. Any other trails out Somerset west side that are good riding??
lerouc Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 There is the wannabee's trails, but its targeted at family riders so nothing too technical. Then you get the helderberg trails/steilte trails/helderberg plaas (not sure what its called atm) which (have not been there myself) i am led to believe are extremely technical more endure type riding. too much climbing for my liking. We ride from Somerset to go ride Eden/G-Spot in stellenbosch. Wannabees and the helderberg trails you can find on facebook for more details.
