Hi

Pls Help.  I want to buy a wheelset.  My Weight is 90Kg. Casual rider.

But which one.

1) Mavic Aksium

2) Mavic Ksyrium

3) Campagnolo Vento

4) Campagnolo Khamsin

5) Falcum Racing 7.

Thx

36 hole rigida dp 18 rims with ultegra hubs. the right thing for a chubby casual rider and worth every cent!
why on hell would you buy one of the named expensive wheels?

Due to the fact that not all of us are able to fly down the road at speeds unknown to normal mortals..We buy the good stuff so we can at least look good when crossing the finish line Thumbs%20Up

The Easton's are very good wheels. I lent a set of Orion II's for two months and, although I'm not in the heavy weight category, they performed well. You should be able to pick up a set for around R5,000 - R6,000 depending on condition.

I don't understand how a casual rider (the one who started this thread) can do the mental gymnastics to explain away in their own heads the need for a 5-6k set of wheels. I don't think I could ever understand that.

I hope that you are only talking to the person that is suggesting 5-6K wheels.  The list of wheels that I (the one who started this thread) am aquiring about are all under 2k.  But you shourly knew that..........

But thanks for all the advice.

I weigh 103kg on a good day and have done almost 5000km on my Ksyrium SL's and not one problem.  These things are still in true and very fast - particularly on the downhills, although that could be the 100+kgs!!!

Embarrassed Sorry... got my wires crossed, but you know what I meant I hope... Out of your list I'd go with the Fulcrum 7's or Khamsins.
