  1. I've got them on both my road and MTB bikes and they work like a charm.
  2. Thanks Hagar. I've got a Polar 625s and I guess the functionality it pretty much the same. It seems GPS is the way forward!
  3. Can anyone comment on this product? What is the price and availability locally?
  4. Is that why you are getting rid of your new Transition...in the market for re-brand Schumacher steed? I think the Transition is way more handsome and looks much faster.
  5. Spot on, I think you've cracked it.
  6. Used White Lightning for years and recently switched to Rock n Roll. This stuff is the berries - even holds up in the rain and mud we are currently living through in Cape Town. It also makes your chain really shiny - bonus bling!!
  7. If it is the old Transition, maybe he's gone completely retro and is running Shimano Bio-pace!!!
  8. Not interested in what he is/or isn't taking, just what he and the other Specialized teams were riding in the TT.
  9. Thanks Carlo Sq. The pics just confirm that it is definately not a 2008 Transition. The 1st clue is the rear brake position in it's traditional spot as opposed to the revised mount underneath the bike. It also doesn't feature the curved downtube.
  10. Two wins out of two in the TDF time trials for Specialized and Stephan Schumacher, but what was he riding? It certainly wasn't the new Transition, in fact it look more like the old design - any ideas?
  11. Firstly, should you do this, I know there is much debate around the subject particularly when it comes to carbon? Assuming we should be lubing, which products are best suited to this sort of application, specifically for mountain bike use?
  12. Awesome saddle. I've just swpped the stock saddle that came with my Specialized Enduro SL and - wow, what a difference. It is designed specifically for MTB, but I might just stick one on my road bike too. It has extra padding in the nose so it should also be pretty comfy for TT or Ironman use. The saddle fitment idea that Specialized has got gooing makes a huge difference - gone are the days when big guys had no choice but to ride skinny butt plugs designed for 65kg elite athletes!
  13. I've got his Tour de France book and that was a pretty good read.
  14. Has anyone tried these new Tufo Tubular Clinchers? I have read pretty good reviews on international websites and in magazines. Any idea of price locally?
  15. Imagine running it off a dynamo...now that would be a workout!!
  16. Any idea where I can get the best price on one of these lights?
  17. Thanks Tnose_E Any idea if they are available locally?
  18. Come on..where are all the opinionated, tech-savy, early adopters this forum is famous for???
  19. Specialized are also bringing in the new Transition which won Kona this year. I don't think they are landing complete bikes, but you have a frame/fork/headset option, plus one with the new Specialized developed crank set and braking system. Check out http://www.specialized-sa.co.za/contentbike.php?range=108&bike=47
  20. I've had a 625x for abot 3 years. It's a great unit - has almost all the cycling functionality of the 725, but comes with the running footpod which is awesome for cross training/triathlon. Apparently they are about to come out with a GPS version.
  21. Does anyone have any feedback on these wheels. I'm looking to upgrade my current cross country type wheelset to something a little more sturdy, without giving up too much weight. An idea of price and stockists would also be great.
  22. Thinner for XC and wider for freeride/durability/handling and mud. 2.1 is best all round width, then just play with your pressures.
  23. For service and maintenance, Lance at the Epic Bike Shop in Plumsted is your man. Know MTB's inside out and I only trust him with my road bike. Several mates can also vouch for the pre-Ironman service he did for them. Bridge Cycles carry loads of stock and they are always willing to negotiate. Willie Engelbrecht has the best selection, but don't expect a smile, even if you are dropping a few grand!!
  24. What size do they go up to?
