Seeding

I was wondering if anyone could shed light on seedings? 

 

I had a really poor race yesterday at the Stellenbosch Cycle Tour.  Lovely race, pretty flat, even Hellshoogte was not as bad as I thought.  But I am sure this race is a beast when the wind is up.  Nonetheless I had 2 punctures and had to borrow a tube which took forever each time.  So instead of a sub 3:30 race I ended up with a 4:38 time. 

 

How will this affect me for CTCC or other races?  Do they take the best time I have done in the year or the average of all the races?  Or do they take the last race? 

 

I was considering not even finishing to propect my seeding but finished off.

They take your best time(s) - a bad result won't hurt your seeding (unless you only have bad results  )

I also understand it the way Skubarra explains it. Wouldn't worry about a single glitch. We all have a bad one every now and then. Agreed on the route. Really stunning visuals. I ditched the inlaws on Saturday night and stayed at the Stellenbosch High School Hostel. Huis du Preez. They rushed me R150 for the night and I only left after I had a shower post race. Bargain, considering I was 120 meters from the start and the parking, sleeping in, no traffic etc.
