Cycling Shorts

Just a warning about Mr Price Sports (Maxed) cycling pants. They are see through when stretched. That means every time you lean forward, they stretch at the back. Not something your buddies behind you want to see.

I'm a part time aerobics instructor and believe me, you can see the Maxed products a mile away.

I have a similar pair, but to preserve my modesty, I wear a another pair of cycling shorts underneath. The type that doesn't have padding.

I was at my favorite lbs at the pavilion (not) recently and found some bib shorts for R999...the chamois looked identical to my high mileage assos bib (mille) or look at Solomon's...they have specials for us fat boys TIR size (over 95 kg)...i bought 2 x assos mille for R1500 each...

A tip... Make use of the assos cream in the box...it does work.

If you are tall and skinny how do you get bibs with the right leg size(ie small) and XL length for the shoulder straps?

If you are faced with that predicament it seems better to go with just chamois shorts not bibs?

Shorts are never an option, the do not hold the chamois in place. You will find bibs that fit. Also remember to NOT look at how the straps feel when walking upright as this is not how you sit on a bike.
