BoulderAlan Posted January 19, 2016 Share Hi, I am visiting Cape Town for the next few months from the other hemisphere and I am looking for riding partners and suggestion for where to rent a quality mountain bike long term. I have not yet secured a bike, so I know nothing yet of local trails. I am mostly interested in MTB, but will ride road too. As for my level, I used to race cross country (amateur sport class many years ago) so I can handle myself on a bike, but have been off for a year with injuries and preparations for this trip (with an extra 8-10Kg as well). I am happy to suffer (or go slow...??) in exchange for knowledgable partners who can show me around. I am not working, so I am flexible during weekdays...I can ride morning or evening, but most weekends will be spent exploring SA with my family. Stiggy Posted January 19, 2016 Share Try these guys in Cape Town CBDhttp://www.bikesnwines.com/ They have road and mtn bikes available for rental. Bikes are also decent specs, so you won't be getting a cheapy.
Rapunzel Posted January 19, 2016 Share You can do bike hire from Cycle Teknix or Iride Africa or look at buying and then selling again when you leave. If you want somebody to show you around the Tygerberg trails, pop me a personal mail (work flexi hours so can do week day mornings if you wish - trails are nice and quiet).
