According to 2 of our members who rode this morning, the cops were there this morning....parked IN the cycle lane opposite Rovers at 4.15, causing riders to have tp go out into the traffic lane to get around them!  When the accident happened, they had gone.

If they park on NMR in the wide cycling lane - with all their lights flashing - I'm grateful to them for doing it.

They're doing it for our benefit, we must remember that. They're up at 4am to make sure we are safe. I make sure I give them a deserved wave of thanks every time I go past them.

So if it requires the bunch to go single file round the van to avoid going into the traffic lane then it's a tiny price to pay.

If I ever see someone getting upset with a cop parked along that stretch because they have to deviate 1m from their line and single file to get round them, they will flipping hear from me, that's for sure. We need to ensure the cops stay on our side, and we must to go out of our way to make sure it stays that way.

Actually, as a cycling club I'd say it's the least we can do to go there with a box of donuts and a cup of hot coffee one day and say thanks as a group to the copper taking their time to look after us.

Point taken.
