A bike shop used Prepsol on my bike and turned the black bottle cages and garmin mount a milky white. Rather bleak...

Been using Kleen Green undiluted on my drive train and diluted on frame for several years now on an aluminium and a carbon frame with no issues.

Wow bud, you are most certainly wishing for the best..Detergent has loads of soap soda..... very very corrosive.

 

It might look clean, but I would most certainly caution against washing your bicycle with a detergent soap.

How does one know if detergent is corrosive or not ?

Absolutely no reason . Bike wash companies will try tell you there is sodium on it and that will cause an issue. It's actually a pretty decent neutral detergent , safe for your bike and your car.

Generally speaking detergents are not neutral Brickleberry, but slightly acidic.

You should find the information in the MSDS: unfortunately not always readily available.

Our product, ECOLOGIC 3D has a PH of 10 when undiluted, therefore alkaline.

Once you dilute it 1:100 for general bike wash, it will most certainly be as neutral as theycome.
