Anyone own or previously used a Crank Brothers Gem Pump and can confirm if its dual action, does it pump on both strokes - the push stroke and pull stroke?

A standard pump only pumps on the push stroke?.

Its this pump here:

I threw mine away after it left me stranded at hakahana. Replaced with a birzman opagee mtb which works like a bomb.

Are they dual action though?

And from your experience are they just rubbish quality?

I have no clue because mine never worked, waste of money, crank brothers make great LOOKING stuff... Functional, not so much.

The thing with dual action pumps are they don't last long and are very fragile ,  Rather go for a high quality topeak od birzman single action pump which delivers high volume

Don't buy anything for cranckbrothers  if it's not a multi-tool or pedals

Reviews seemed very positive so I ordered the Gem Large, only 3cm longer than the small. Will see if it's beats my current Ravx beater pump that's been limping along for a few years now.

Disappointed it's not dual action though, used a tiny Blackburn dual action pump once, blew me away out how fast and efficiently it worked. Anyone have any dual action pumps to recommend that I can try if the Gem doesn't work as I want?

Just some feedback, got the Gem Large, one of the best pumps I've used, pumps up tyres lightening quick and the high pressure switch makes fine tuning the pressure a breeze, also means the force you are applying to the valve stem to squeeze the last few kpa in isn't nearly as much as a typical pump that gets quite hard to pump and in turn that force ends up acting on the stem.
