If you're buying a Garmin, I suggest you buy local. They fairly robust, but reality is that they can break.

However, I can vouch for their exceptional support. Had the misfortune to crack my screen on January 2nd and I had an replacement the next day.

The best GPS for Sani is one you PRACTICE the navigation with - trust me it is more complicated than it seems to set up and use the screens - setting up a short course and practicing using it in advance is the only way to develop some confidence in the setup and using it.

For racing - we usually run one screen set up as a BIG arrow, and my partners set up to show the track ahead - the arrow dows not always work so well at Y junctions - clearly we have both devices (510 and 520) able to use either as well as our normal data screens.

You also need to consider understanding what the audio tones etc mean ito are you on track or off track etc - practicing helps a lot - finding out how it works mid ride is probably not advisable - although on Sani I doubt you would get significantly lost unless you are at the sharp end of the field without wheel marks to follow.
