Thursday was 4 weeks since the opp.

My movement was 40 to 105 at ky 1st physio 10 days after the opp. Tuesday 21 days after opp its at 2 to 141.

Minimal pain in elbow, muscles and tendons in for arm is sore, especially after a few hours of using a pc. Seeing specialist on Tuesday, hoping to get ok for swim and bike.

Had a few runs and a few watt bike sessions which went fine.

3 degree improvement in 3 days? Brilliant. Well done, Robo.

Shattered my left radius and fractured right wrist May 7th at Hoogekraal. It will be 8 weeks tomorrow, and I still need to see the physio, as my surgeon went to the US for some symposium. I too feel the cold, and have also not been back in the saddle yet.

I have about 3 degrees of movement up, and about 10 - 15 downwards movement, and the tendons hurt like nothing when typing on a keyboard. Also, turning my wrist is limited to about 90 degrees of movement. Still can't make a flat hand to hold something in it. Strength is also gaining, but is at most 75% to 80% of usual.

I do see weekly improvement, but not daily as yet.

From what I read here, physio is crucial. As for my medical aid, that has been depleted (I was duly informed of this tidbit earlier this week), so my question is if physio is very pricey?

Just bought a house too, and all my savings have now officially seen there collective end.

Physio rates, by the hour, are actually quite low. But you need a number of sessions and it can add up. Most important is to do the exercises the physio gives you to do at home. But you need to go back to the physio to monitor your progress and if you feel something wrong or unexpected, let the physio know.

You can delay the next bike purchase by a few months, but you only have a limited recovery window period during which the physio can help. You can always buy n+1 bicycles but you can never buy another arm. So make a plan for the physio!

I read allot about this during the opp and recovery and rather take a mini loan and do the physio as once the window has passed you are stuck.

I had around 12 sessions at about 450 a shot.

I agree. And I plan to fix the physio situation today still. One arm argument wins hands down... ;)

I very nearly bought a new Stumpjumper the week before the crash if it was not for the rep who never mailed the quote...It would still be in the garage, ridden only once. Sometimes poor service does pay off.
