Buying from ebay

Look, there's nothing wrong with purchasing from eBay. I've completed dozens and dozens of transactions view eBay. The risk/reward just needs to make sense. To save 10% over a local price? Nah. To save 30%? Potentially a different matter entirely.

been buying from ebay since early 2000's and started using shipito.com in 2010. Shipito is a forwarding company that offer different shipping / postage options. the nice thing with shipito is that I complete the customs documentation (description and value) so I am able to "influence" the VAT value payable to SARS. shipito rates are way lower that what sellers quote as part of the description. with your shipito address in nevada you never pay state tax so you can buy from US stores as well.

that said if the weight is heavy or bulky packaging shipping cost will negate the cost saving (even using a company like shipito) and it might be better to buy locally than save a grand or so.
