Hi All,

We are planning a MTB weekend in the Sabie/ Graskop area in August/ September this year and would like some help with planning the routes for the ride. We are planning rides of between 60-100km per day and therefore need some help with some GPX files on the area. We have contacted Komatiland for riding permits however they also need the GPX files to issue the correct permits. Any help with any nice routes in the area would be greatly appreciated.

an idea might be to have a look at Max Knox's Strava

He stays out there, so you might be able to get some ideas for routes.

Forest 2 Falls is happening next week, but i'm not sure how much of that route is on private land or if you can just go ride it.

Another way i've found for looking for routes, is using the Strava segment explorer, go to the area you're going to be in, then look for segments around it, if you go into the segment and then open up some of the peoples rides, you can see where they went.

If you're a premium Strava member, you can download the gpx files.

Hi, I go up and ride there often.

I don't have the rides on GPS, but I'll be keen to show you around and join you on these rides.

Route1:

From Graskop, past Lisbon Falls, up to God's Window and back via Driekop Plantation = 40km

This route can be extended to 80km by popping down into Pilgrims Rest and back to Graskop.

(Note: not the tar road to Pilgrims but via the mountain)

Route2.

From Graskop to Vaalhoek (Bourke's Luck) and then to Pilgrims and back to Graskop = 70km

Route3.

Loop from Graskop to Sabie and back = 70km

Please send me a mail on wheunis@mpact.co.za if you want to discuss further.

Thanks

Go to the York Timbers Head Office in Sabie.  Speak to Odette, she will hook you up with the permits as well as the downloads for the routes.  You can phone or email her to get the links.  The York trails are SUPER!  During the Sabie Experience only the Komati Land trails are ridden.  You HAVE to do the YORK one leading all the way up to the Longtom road & then down again with single track sections like DRIP-DROP-TEAR DROP and the up again past CUDDLE PUBBLE, which is beautiful.  Other single track sections are
