Mavic Crossride rear wheel wobble

I purchased a set of Crossrides unused off a new bike. The front and rear hubs are

both thru axles so I got the adapters to change to QR. The rear wheel now has some

play from left to right and the skewers are tight against the frame. There was a

previous thread about this but apparently you cant get the hub kit from the Hub Doctor as they don't ship to SA.

Any hints to remedy the problem. Appears to be a common problem with these hubs

I had a slight wobble on my Crossmax SLR rear wheel, just nip the nut tight on the non-drive side of the axle. Use the special spanner that comes with the wheels.

You can also tap it gently with a flat screwdriver but risk the nut being scarred by it.

 

DO NOT over tighten it because the wheel wont spin freely.

If the freehub wobbles on the hub, it's a Hubdoctor problem. If the whole wheel wobbles it's most likely bearing preload.

 

It's a 30 second job to sort out and you don't even need to take the wheel off the bike.
