Reden Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Since upgrading the computer to Windows 10 the infrared dongle does not work at all.I use Polar Trainer V5.40.170 I get a message "COMMUNICATIONS PORT COULD NOT BE OPENED" Anyone else have this problem?I do not want to loose these training files as I like to keep a log of what I did.
Bateleur1 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Everybody will have there problem. I was bitching about it last week. Look for the Polar vs Garmin thread. However I did bitch with Polar directly about it. I received a detailed report on it last week from the Polar Germany office. It is in German so I did not share it on here. There is hope at the end of the tunnel here. Microsoft in Windows 10 removed all Infrared support out of their Kernel and therefor you IR dongle won't work. Apparently however they will but putting the IR support back into Windows in one of the updates due end of July. Polar however will tell you that they can't make any promises. Should that be the case then your dongle should be able to work again. I am holding my breath.
