I have been living in Europe for the last 20 years. I was born in Durban and left South Africa at the age of 14. I spend every holiday in Cape Town and enjoy South Africa very much. The quality of life is simply better than anywhere in Europe.

I have sold my company to move back during course of 2008. The grass is not greener on the other side!

Roach

you are about to become very surprised. I lived in 5 or 6 countries over the past 20 years, SA has sun and great riding, but its soul is black. (I dont mean as far as race goes , I mean as dark days ahead goes. If this place makes it past 2016 or the general population I will be very surprised. If you have money, SA is fine, but if you have to earn a living here there are a laod of better places in the world as far as standard of living if you are a professional.

Was in the country 5 min and a victim of crime, broke into my trunk in the International Arrivals,  Luckily they broke into the wrong side and only stole a pair of boxer shorts,  was it the other side it would have been my daughters Itouch.

NOT GOOD

Ya Samjoor things are not great. Was burgled while I slept last month.

If you have seen the weekend argus, you will be embarrased to see what South Africans are capable of. Some of the spin is that it is thuggery which some of it sure is, but the residents of Ocean view have threatened to burn down the City Hall near them if refugees are housed there. These residents are supposedly not thugs, then that would make them Xenophobes!

Can you imagine what the Met in London or teh CRS in France would do if residents threatened to burn down a hall. Never mind what they would do if people were openely runing round looting shops as is shown on TV.

It would not involve rubber bullets either.
