Thanks for all of the assistance.  I contacted the Constantia Watch, who found the car on the camera and the number plate too.  They've forwarded details to the police.  They can't share pictures for legal reasons.

 

They could however confirm that it was a cream coloured Peugeot station wagon with a CA number plate, and that the owner lives nearby.  

 

From my memory it looked something like the car on this link, but cream, and in worse condition:

btw did you lay a charge with saps ?

will you keep us updated about what ever action is taken about this against the driver etc  (you already are but keep it up  )
