Momsen AL029, AL129 or Specialized Hardrock Disc SE

Hi guys.

 

Brand new to this forum and buying my first bike in 16 years.  I'm considering the above options as they are in my price range and would like some opinions on them.  I've read tons of reviews on all of them and obviously at that price there are loads of cons on all of them but thought someone might have some personal experience that will sway me in one direction.

My advice to you would be to buy second hand. You will get a lot more bike for your buck as 2016 pricing for new bikes is just ridiculous in my opinion.

I was looking at second hand but there's not that much in Durban and I'm hesitant to buy from CPT/JHB without being able to check it out.  Thanks for the advice, I will reconsider

So I found this in Pretoria: Merida BIG NINE TFS 300 TEAM 29" wheels 21" large frame. Shimano 3x9 gears with XT rear derailleur. Hydraulic disc brakes. Maxxis crossmark tyres, tubeless conversion done for R6k.  Not a very friendly person and refused that I ship the bike but I have some friends there that can possibly help.  Does this look like a good deal?
