  1. Hi all Been a while since I last posted anything on here... Not the right page, but was wondering if anyone knows if I can commute from Somerset's side to the Stellenbosch Techno Park? I have seen a few Strava rides go that way, but was wondering if anyone thinks it's safe to use that route to commute?
  2. Anyone hit more than 90km/h anywhere on the route?
  3. I never felt like this route had any chance for recovery. Mostly because I was always chasing groups I guess. This is the hardest race I have ever done, but still one of the best IMO
  4. By the way, has anyone tried the nutrition samples from NamedSport? Opinions? Used both of mine on race day and I am impressed.
  5. I have done a 3:15 on my hardtail a few years ago with Knobblies Saw a guy on Sunday on his Cannondale Scalpel and he finished in under 3
  6. Toughhhhhhhhh... But 2:50 for me at 88kg And mostly a solo effort as well, guess I don't suck after all
  7. High5 is by far the best riding supplement I have ever used Personal preference hey
  8. Was a good race. Was impressed with the organisation and I found the route enjoyable (except the soul destroying N14 ) Will be back next year and great prep for the 947
  9. Anyone gotten their seeding yet?
  10. People complaining about entry numbers and people complaining about the people complaining about the entry numbers. What a fun thread this turned out to be.
  11. Almost burst out laughing when I saw this post
  12. So Lionel was strong on the bike, so did he lose it all on the run? Trying to find out WTF happened to him
  13. Thanks for all the advice guys, really appreciate it
  14. Thanks for the reply. I swim 3-4 times per week, usually around 30-45 mins per session. Constantly exhaling (the drills I am doing is to get used to constantly exhaling, while staying relaxed in the water) I am breathing every second stroke I only started swimming laps in July. Is this something you get used to over time (i.e. you gain fitness in the water), or will I have that "a-ha!" moment once I get it right and be able to swim for long periods of time without losing my breath?
  15. So another noob question here Swimming... I am getting much better wrt my technique and my breathing, especially since I started doing drills to get comfortable in the water and swim without constantly being out of breath and feeling like I am drowning. However, still can't swim more than 4 laps continuous without having to stop for a few seconds at least to catch my breath. I am sure a bunch of you have had the same problem and how long will it take for me to start getting comfortable enough in the water to swim upward op 1000m without stopping?
  16. My money is on Sanders taking it this year for the men. And Ryf/Charles fighting it out for the ladies. Charles is an absolute beast considering she is still relatively new to the sport. Both her and Daniela are looking lean and in great shape. I recently watched the latest episode of the GTN show and found it interesting how few pros actually predicted a top 3 for Sanders. Sounds like they feel he is completely overthinking his approach. "Reinventing the wheel".
  17. Very interesting, wonder if these would be legal in road races...
  18. Damn, I have AC wheels on both my MTB and road bike...
  19. Entry done, I am super excited for this one. Still deciding if I want to ride the MTB race this year
  20. Very scary if you imagine you could be blasting down the side of a mountain at 50km/h and your fork could just give in. Can't imagine what would happen to the rider
