Pilanesburg Tour de Wilderness - 1st Oct 2016

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere (didn't see it on a search), found it on a friends facebook page:

Pilanesberg - Tour de Wilderness is an annual event that takes place in the WIlderness area of the Pilanesberg National Park.
This area is also a Rhino poaching hotspot, and this will give cyclists participating an idea of the terrain the Rhino Protection Unit works in.

There is a 68km ride for the tough and hardy riders, and a 40km ride for those wishing to relax more....:-)

There are no 'tickets'! Just email manager@pwt.org.za or pdell@nwptb.co.za. 
Both routes take you through the hills and valleys in the northern areas of the park, passing through areas not open to members of the public. 

Cyclists will be travelling through Big 5 area the whole way, and the views and scenery throughout the route are spectacular.

The various pelatons that set off will consist of 10-15 cyclists each. 
The focus is not to see who can finish the fastest, but rather to allow the cyclists to slow down and enjoy the incredible opportunity of riding in the Park. You are encouraged to look around and stop as you move through the route to take in the magnificent surroundings and any game you see. 

With one of the main focuses being on the safety of all cyclists, having the pelotons moving at a more relaxed pace allows the cyclists to not only see the bigger game, but it also allows for the diffusion of potentially dangerous situations before they escalate. 

This event is not for children under the age of 16 years. Also no novices please. 
The correct gear for the event is essential.
Start time will be 7h00 on Saturday 1 October 2016.
Snacks will be provided along the route.
Cost per person is R3,500.00.
