Thanks! No clearcoat, I'll still give it some wax though.

 

My first attempt(see above) is holding up really well without any treatment-I buffed it up once after I got it greasy though

What in oven cleaner attacks the anodizing?

 

Can I use oven cleaner to remove white oxidation on aluminium?

 

Seems like handy stuff, what else is it useful for?

I've got no clue. The second crank I did, I sanded, and then polished-didn't want to risk damaging the spindle.

 

It would seem to work quite well for oxidation removal-quite potent. Just make sure to not leave it on too long(+-20min); potent stuff... And rinse thoroughly

 

Edit: +-40-60min; not 20
