Threading a 1 inch steerer tube

I have an old school fork with a 1 inch steerer tube that needs about 10mm more thread for the headset to preload properly. Does anybody know an LBS in my neck of the woods (Stellenbosch) that has the right die set to do this.

Or alternatively where I can source a 1 inch 24TPI Right Hand Thread Die locally

What you can try and do is use an old Ahead top race. This has no thread, then you use a spacer to where the thread starts and use 2 lock rings to secure it.

Unless you want your bars lower, then you can either use a older 1" aheadset or try the threading. Older cycles hops should still have those tools available.

Thanks, very clever idea, if the threading does not work I will give this a go.
