The Johan Le Roux 24 Hour Memorial race is part of the annual remembrance ceremony being held in commemoration of the horrific bus accident that occurred on the 28th of January 1970 as the bus stalled on the railway track and was struck by an oncoming passenger train wherein 23 children was killed and 16 injured.

 

The race will be starting at 15:00 on the 27th of January 2017 and will continue through the night until 16:00 of the 28th of January 2017.

This race is a 24 hour race that will be ridden on spinning bikes. Teams will consist of up to 6 people per team and the team members will be riding in relay fashion. Mixed teams consisting of both males and females are allowed and encouraged.

 

There is no entry fee for this race, however it is imperative that the organizers know about your team before the event as preparations need to be made in advance. Team names and participants names is required in advance.

 

There will be space for the competitors to sleep during the night, please just bring your own sleeping bag/pillows.

Food and beverages will be available on site.
