2017 Merdia Big Nine 500 or 2013 Scott Scale 940?

Hi Guys. Im looking to buy a 29er hard tail. My 2 options are a 2017 Merida Big Nine 500 or a 2013 Scott Scale 940. Which one would you buy and why?

Stay away from the 2013 Scott. They had a tendency to crack at the chainstay. There were numerous threads back then about the problem. If it is second hand you won't get a warranty.
