I was talking about the T-Shirts not the cycling shirts.(they're priced fairly)

There isn't much time or expertise involved in printing the below on a shirt I'm afraid:

Cav' once again you have every right to voice your opinion about what you feel is the correct price for a product.

We have got 38mm coming soon.

We have done tests with a grey, black, blue and green. Grey came out as the colour of choice for the launch.

Thanks, useful to know but still think your waist sizing needs review. 38mm is even smaller than cm, pretty sure you are meaning to add inches (in) as the metric for sizing

Apologies I sent you a size chart where the waistline is in cm! Those should be inches...28in, 30in, 32in, 34in, 36in...

Shorts look bomb! Kudos for the price point! If they shorts were made in RSA that would be a ++ from my side...

V12man, they will gather sweat but dry very quickly. The hollow fibre allows for better breathability and quicker evaporation.

As I said - they looked good - I even asked him where he got them (94.7 expo) :)

But they were showing visibly wet in the small of the back - not that other shorts don't go wet there - just not necessarily visible, so it's not really a criticism at all - more an observation.

Baggies look interesting but why put the zip pockets at the end of the leg, that's the part of shorts that goes through the biggest range of motion and hence anything even slightly heavy will be flopping all over the place and making life a pita. What are the pockets designed for, 1 ICE card and 10 Smarties each side?

Nice T-Shirts,but at that price it's a rip off unfortunately.

Can only agree, that's Premium Fashion brand VnA Waterfront type pricing, R450-R499 for a screenprinted T-shirt, where is the value add?

Unless there's something we not getting like they are made in Italy or have mohair in the fabric etc?

Regarding pocket position:

  • We looked at putting pockets on the bum. These pockets will always get in the way of the saddle and by bulking here will mean less slack on the front of the short.
  • Pockets on the side of the short run the risk of having their content falling out unless there are zips. Once again when you bulk up here it means less slack on the leg and the pedal stroke. This is also a prime position for your "pita problem".
  • We settled on two zipped pockets above the quad as this position, even when bulked up, still allows the leg to move freely when pedaling. By placing the pocket above the leg when seated on the bike, means contents of your pocket are more likely to stay in position in the zipped pocket. The pockets are designed to carry a car-key, cash, ICE card, credit cards, map, Activity card/permits, gels and a box of smarties if you would like.

Regarding the question about the prices for an Apres Velo tee that you and Cav' have posed:

  • It is a really high quality t-shirt brand.
  • They are either 100% cotton or a Cotton-Elastene.
  • We import the shirts from Australia.
  • There are strict requirements for the shirts regarding manufacturing and printing.
  • Wash and shrink tests are done on each sample to ensure the shirt you buy won't colour bleed or shrink.
  • The prints on the shirts won't fade or crack and will stay vivid.
  • We have looked at producing them locally  at a quality level that Apres Velo would be happy with. The price works out almost the same and we would have to make large quantities.
  • We would far rather bring in a wider range and smaller quantities to offer the public.

Ah ok so the T-shirts are made in Australia or made in China imported via Aus?

I have had absolutely no issue with outside side pockets/just below the waist on cycling shorts/baggies, lower leg pockets on the other hand... waste of a pocket

Can I ask why you haven't included a few ladies sizes in your cycling jerseys?  It is so hard to find attractive, well-fitting and good quality ladies kitten SA.  Even a men's small will be too large for me.  Will you consider bringing in a few ladies sizes?
