GoPro / action camera chestmount sounds

hey guys,

I'm struggling with my action cam making high pitched sounds, recording when I ride with it on my chestmount.

I've checked - there's nothing touching the cam that can cause the sound, cam sits secure in it's housing and as far as I can tell, secure in the chestmount mounting.

Anyone else experieced this? And how to eliminate it?

Sounds like its shaking around in the housing, try using some foam inserts or the open backdoor and see if it persists. It might also be something next to the camera which is bashing against the housing.

I wish it was that straight forward.

Did the shake test with housing

Did the shake test without housing

Did the shake test without battery door, with battery forced in place

 

All still shaking - seems something internal has shaken loose.

Will have to go in...
