ADT guy attacks Rondebosch lady

ADT guy attacks Rondebosch,CT,  lady on Thursday 15 May 2008.

 

He had a huge knife 30cm +- that the victim managed to grab off the ADT guy. Her hand was pretty cut up but he left the scene and they now have the him behind bars.

 

She went to hospital had anti tetnis shot etc and now she is ok, she came to spinning this morning wearing gloves.

 

Am I missing something, or are the ADT guys supposed to prevent you from being attacked?

They don't really get trained to do anything. Every few hours they get dropped off and a different sleeping spot.

ADT security guy attacks woman - now in jail.  Easy.

 

ADT are generally on my pet-hate list.  We have their "LSS" service in our area (local patrolling) and they stick newsletters every month into our postbox.  For the past year, they have reported that 1 or 2 incidents occured in our area, whereas I get an SMS from the police on numerous occasions every week informing me of reported incidents in the general area.  Most aren't within the patrolling zone but some definitely are, so either ADT are misinformed or they are liars.  As the SMS service was started by the Community Police Forum (where they are members), you would have to assume that they are the latter.

Quite a fuss on 702 a couple of weeks back.

 

A reporter got a security guard accreditation over the counter. Once you got that you have been screened, trained, alles.

 

Pity, because so many guards actually do such a good job. Probably the same as in every industry.
