Hi all.

After a big crash end of January where i broke my helmet, ribs, and sternum, its time to get back on my bike.

Any advice on the best top quality brain bucket?

Not brand bias at all but want the best i can get my hands on, as even top of the range prices are still cheaper than brain surgery :)

I have quite a long head, so if anyone has experience on this, and can advise on a "deeper" fitting lid, that would be great. Thanks all

I would say my Bontrager Rally MIPS is a bit on the not so wide/slightly longer side. But rather go try helmets on and get the one that fits you best. Sometime you're half way between two sizes and it could really go either way.

The Rally is a trail helmet, so it is heavier and not as well vented as most XC helmets...but it offers extra protection lower down at the back of the head and the MIPS is for extra brain saving.

If you're really concerned about your brain, get a DH rated full face helmet with a removable chin bar. (not the Bell Super 3R)
