Hi all

Just wanted to check if anyone knows what the dura ace 7800 components could be compared to in the most current range of components. The dura ace 7800 components were released in about 2003 and would they still be rated as good components to use.

thanks in advance

Still rated as some of Shimanos finest bits.

If you've got or can get some in good shape, absolutely no reason why you shouldn't use it.

I bought a bike in +-2006 kitted with DA7800 and it's still going. (albeit that it's become a backup bike)

Probably difficult to compare taking into account all the advancements since the 7800 was released approx 13 years ago; pre-carbon, pre-internal cabling. All i can say for sure is that it probably has some of the best shifting and i think the best brakes that i have had the pleasure of.

If you lucky enough to get hold of a group, grab it; they are for keeps.

Just watch out for spectators' goodie bags next to the road. If the right STI catches one of those you'l hit the deck. Jan and Roberto might not wait for you this time
