I believe Cane Creek make an adapter that will allow you to use a tapered fork on your frame. Best to get some advise from anyone who's used this.

According to the Cane Creeks headset fit finder, the Talon has a 44mm head tube. So he's in luck. Good chance of a tapered fork working just fine in his bike. He should only need the bottom assembly though. But its best to confirm this with your lbs instead of taking my word for it.

Some food for thought. The Talon isn't exactly a bike I would throw lots of money at. While a Reba or SID would be a welcome upgrade. It won't turn a Talon into an XTC. The fork would have to be a REALLY well priced before I consider slapping it on.

You have to ask yourself if you'll be happy once you have a new fork. Or if its just the first  symptom of the upgrade bug. Because if you start thinking...mmh other wheels would be nice. Maybe 1x11 after that? Then screw it. You'll just be burning a whole in your pocket on a bike that quite frankly is not worth throwing that much cash at.

If you're frustrated because your ability is starting to exceed that of the bikes. Then don't bother upgrading anything. Sell it. Get something more capable.
