popcorn_skollie Posted July 3, 2017 Share Try Swift Threads in Milnerton. http://i.imgur.com/YJOWN9Y.jpg You'd have to check their tapping costs.More than likely it could end up costing you as much if not more than a used crankset so... I'd try my luck searching for a crank arm first. Put out a wanted ad.You'd be surprised how lucky one can get Then if that's a bust.Give it a go with a thread file first. Make sure you have the right sizing.Again. You might get lucky. If helicoil really was my last option. I'd toss the cranks and get others. But that's just me. Cippo Posted July 3, 2017 Share Not sure if they still do it but BMC in Salt River did one for me on a stem awhile back.
manbearpig Posted July 4, 2017 Share If there is enough "meat" on the crank get a "vasbyt". You don't need whole kit to fit and they're as strong as ****. Drill out and retap. Only issue would be if they make that thread especially if it's left hand.
