Why don't SPD's use sealed bearings?

Shimano only uses sealed bearings on their TA hubs, everything else has cup and cone bearings. It's not a bad thing. I'm almost for user serviceability.

I actually got a tool to service shimano 520 pedals as well. Now all the bikes in our household are rolling on slick pedals.

Quick 10 min job per set (unless you drop a bearing.)
