Apologies if this has been done to death..

I’m in town for a couple of days and want to do a days riding on Thursday 19th.. short notice I know!

Was planning table mountain, but heard it might not be the best trails to ride solo.

Jonkershoek is my backup, but would love to have a guide for local knowledge if anyone fancies a ride tomorrow!

Any other suggestions? I would rate myself intermediate, with decent technical skills, and limited ability in the air..????

what time table mountain, its been plenty busy of late... w2w training i think.

there are many of us, who commute there daily.

busy times around 5am-9am and 4pm till 6pm.

if you are familiar with Cape Town, then Table Mountain is as safe, ie. if something/someone doesn't feel/look right, it probably isn't take a different route.

as for guide, check out

Lots of options.

Agree with Meezo re Table Mountain.

There is a brisk ride at 18h30 from Kloof str in town to the block house and back. Ends with beers and burgers. must have lights.

Tygerberg trails, safe, but will need to buy a permit at each different farm and you cant use the link routes.

Rheebokskloof and Welvanpas in Paarl and Wellington are well worth a visit. About an hours drive from Bantry bay. Safe. Challenging.

Jonkers always good. No need for a guide. Check the maps and Strava. cant get lost.

Thanks for replies, ended up on Table mountain, no problems, got an Uber XL both ways.

Not the most enjoyable ride I’ve done, but bloody hard work!

I’ll try Jonkers next time I’m not so hungover..
