Perhaps an improvement to my earlier reply:

Durability wise I can say that it has lasted surprisingly well.

On the mtb, I went through a river crossing and completely submerged the unit. Also forgot it on when washing my bike down at no less than 2 events and I was convinced each time that it was toast but it has kept on working. So the seals seem good. The unit hasn't taken many (if any) direct knocks but has been on a fair amount of trails and so far, survived.

Road bike-fitted one has had a much less adventurous life (except for a very wet Stellenbosch Cycle Tour) and is still going strong as well.

Cool beans! Thanks for the update

I got two Magene cadence sensors last year September-ish.  The one on the MTB unfortunately fell off in the rocks in Eselfontein.  In hindsight I should have secured it better with doublesided tape and a cable tie instead of the single o'ring which it came with.  My bad.  I don't blame this on the product at all - it's rocky up there and I should have secured it better.

The other one is on my road bike and has done roughly around 3000km so far and is still going strong on it's original battery.  Pairs up instantly and is completely reliable.  What more could you want?
