Vipa FD question

So I built up a Vipa and it uses an e-type (direct mount) FD. But the problem is that the one I have on it now doesn't fit as the cage knocks against the rear triangle.

I thought of using a spicer on the BB to shift the crank outward a bit.

Is there an easier remedy? Do I need a different FD or is there some spacer on the FD mounting I need?

It's for a 2015 team edition.

Mix and match with Shimano parts can get very messy.  FD's are matched with cranksets and you can sometimes work around successfully but often not.  I don't know the bike but I think it was designed for a 1 X11 groupset and I would be very surprised to see a 2015 bike with an E type derailleur.  The Vipas' that I have seen have direct mount FD's or no FD at all.

Ag sorry. You're corect. Has direct mount (i thought it the same as e-type). And yes, the model actually is run without a FD. But then it doesn't make sense that the mount is there in the first place. Ai tog.

Ping Momsen and find out what's compatible - you may find that if you fit a FD for a slightly larger chainring combo (like 26/39 instead of 22/36) you'll get the clearance you need.

As David said, direct mount FDs are a bit of a faff.
