Why do SRAM rear derailleurs not have a parallel movement

Has no effect on the miss alignment of the cage (as in the angle alignment,not vertical position alignment.)

check for the amount of free play indicated on that close pin,,,dont know how old the derailer is,,I had similar issue and this was the same case, with a little bent here and there it is alligned...to check it remember to push the derailer out as if it would be under normal tension with the chain in place

The derailleur is 1.5 years old, and has 5000km on it. It has no play in it.

 

(I have a old shamino derailleur that has a fair amount of play in it, so I know what you mean.)
