They did the same kind of scheme a couple of years ago with PC's.

 

If I'd stayed there any longer I would have bought some cool stuff on this scheme Thumbs%20Up

I have suggested it every year for the past three on the "Tips for Trevor" process, but they have taken absolutely no notice.  The good thing about the scheme is the government does none of the administration.  The employer is required to declare that the employee rides to work, the bike shop does all the processing (as they obviously want the sale) and the customer just has to claim the tax break either through the employer or on tax return.

Here is how it works.

 

1. Your employer buys it and is allowed the VAt decuction             17.5%vat

2. Your employer is allowed to deduct it from his bottom line         29% Co Tax

3. You Pay you boss back & Deduct it from you salary before tax   20%  PAYE

 

Depending on your tax bracket tos a total of  66.5% in tax break!

 

no limit as to the bike you buy.
