Indoor trainer problem

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a wohoo kickr snap, I fitted a slick onto my mtb and jumped on, it made a really high pitched noise.

I then went and bought a new lower profile, full slick, hard compound road tire and fitted it. It still makes an extremly high pitch annoying noise.

Does ANYONE have ANY SOLUTIONS for this... and please more than just 'buy a indoor trainer tire'... thank you in advance... any hacks???

Where is the noise coming from i.e the Kickr or the tyre contact area? How tight did you fasten the roller onto the tyre? I would assume you have tried different tension settings, I found having it slightly looser than "prescribed" leads to less tyre ware.

I have a Kickr Snap that I use with normal road bike with gatorskins and there is no high pitched noise. The trainer itself is a bit noisy at full speed, but that's normal. I don't think the trainer tyre will make a huge difference - there could be something wrong with your unit.

Thanks guys... yeah i have followed all instructions fro setting it up, but it still seems to make the noise. Searcged a bit and found its a common problem with the wahoo snap and that it is a bearing problem...

Piggybacking on this thread:

I have a square rear wheel now due to incorrectly setting up the roller pressure and my tyre pressure. Just two question for all the IDT specialists using smart trainers with rollers:

Should the interface pressure be increased to reduce slip?

Or, should the interface pressure be reduced to reduce wear?

My tyre is 7 bar and I tighten the CycleOps Powerbeam's roller to the 2nd click...

Thanks
