The Rattle Can Project

So I decided that it would be fun to see what can be done with a carbon frame and some rattle can spray paint... (Oh and my trusty vinyl cutter!)

I ended up finding an old Merckx frame that had been abused with a very bad panel beater paint job that had too much primer and massive cracks in the top coat... (size small, so thankfully a little less sanding I thought)

The end result... HUGE respect to guys like Bogus who do this for a living, it takes a massive amount of work and attention to detail to get the kind of results he produces!

Kept it simple, and mainly clearcoated the carbon, as I wanted to keep the unique layup showing through, as well as helping whoever rides it to keep an eye out for cracks etc, as I don't know the full history of the frame (though seems solid as a rock at this point)

Yeah, the Squidbikes stuff is awesome! Unfortunately the frame is not my size, so decided to keep it simple and subtle, but if it was something I was gonna ride, I'd definitely go a little brighter and more funky!

You ever had a look at Squid Bikes?

What they do with rattle cans is mind blowing.

Looks neat. Nice job
